Introduction:

Sending mail for the blind, both in Israel and abroad, is free of charge.
The exemption from mail delivery costs is restricted to a certain weight and size of the piece of mail



Mail which is solely intended for the blind may be sent for free both within Israel and abroad, dependent on specific weight and size restrictions.

Mail Sent within Israel

  • When sending mail with material written in Braille writing, the word "ברייל" (“Braille”) must be written on the envelope or package.
  • When sending mail which includes recorded material, the words "חומר לעיוורים" (“Material for the Blind”) must be written on the envelope or package.

Mail Sent Abroad

  • The word “Cecogramme” should be written on packages sent abroad, along with the sender's name and address.
  • Land and sea shipments up to 7kg may be sent for free.
  • A special rate has been set for air mail.
